Honda Gold Wing (fourth generation, GL1500)

Motorcycles and Powered Two- and Three-Wheelers

The fourth-generation Gold Wing, the GL1500, debuted at the Cologne Motorcycle Show in 1987, thirteen years after the original GL1000 was shown there, and it brought the biggest changes seen in the Gold Wing series since the start. A flat six replaced the flat four, fed by only two large 36 mm Keihin carburetors, plastic bodywork enclosed the whole motorcycle, and a reverse gear driven by the electric starter was added. The GL1500 stayed in production for 13 model years, equal to all the four cylinder Gold Wings combined. Each model year has its own page.
