The Popular, nicknamed the Pop, was a budget car built in England by Ford UK from 1953 to 1962. At its launch it was the cheapest car on sale in Britain. It was developed as a budget alternative when production of the older Anglia and Prefect stopped in 1953, based on the pre war style E494A Anglia, and from 1959 it used the 100E Anglia body shell. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the 103E (1953 to 1958); the 100E (1959 to 1962).
