The seventh generation Hilux was introduced for Argentina on 2 March 2005 in Buenos Aires, with a market launch in April. For the double cab variant the 2005 model was 400 mm longer and 45 mm wider, and the line was built in Thailand under the IMV program. It was model year 2 of 5 in the Toyota Hilux (seventh generation, AN10, AN20 and AN30), 2004 to 2014, coming after the 2004 model year and before the 2006 model year.
