The eighth generation Hilux was introduced simultaneously on 21 May 2015 in Bangkok, Thailand and Sydney, Australia. It reached the Philippines in July 2015, Mexico and the Gulf countries in August 2015, and Argentina and Brazil in November 2015, and in September 2017 Toyota released the Hilux in Japan for the first time since 2004. A minor redesign came in November 2017, the second facelift in June 2020 with LED headlamps, and a third facelift on 1 February 2024.
