Toyota Corona (eighth generation, T170)

Automobiles

The eighth generation T170 Corona and the Toyota Carina continued to increase in size and were introduced in December 1987. Because of Japanese taxation laws, both got to the maximum 1,700 mm permitted for a lower tax bracket. In August 1988 a four wheel drive Corona was added using All-Trac with the fuel injected 1.6 liter 4A-FE engine, and a minor facelift in November 1989 redesigned the front grille.
