The Subaru R2 of 2007 was in its fifth year on sale, a kei car with a 658 cc inline four cylinder engine, unlike other Subaru models that used boxer engines. It was available with front or all wheel drive and with a manual or a CVT transmission, with the supercharged R2 Type S as the sporty version, and it was sold beside the two door R1. The R2 exterior dimensions are largely similar to its predecessor, the Subaru Pleo.
