The sixth generation Forester was launched in Australia on 28 May 2025 with four variants, Standard, Premium, Sport and Touring. It went on sale in New Zealand on 5 June 2025 with customer deliveries starting in July 2025, and was launched in Vietnam on 12 November 2025. It was the 2025 model year in North America. The Forester has been awarded Motor Trend's SUV of the Year for 2009 and 2014. Subaru of Indiana Automotive makes about half of all Subaru vehicles sold in North America.
