The sixth generation Forester was released in North America in the second quarter of 2024 for the 2025 model year, in Base, Premium, Sport, Limited and Touring trim levels. It was released in the European market in October 2024, powered by the 2.0 liter FB20D e-Boxer gasoline mild hybrid powertrain. The Forester has been awarded Motor Trend's SUV of the Year for 2009 and 2014. Subaru of Indiana Automotive makes about half of all Subaru vehicles sold in North America.
