AMC Ambassador

Automobiles

The Ambassador was the large car line of American Motors Corporation, sold through 1974 in eight generations, as two and four door sedans, hardtops, station wagons and convertibles. When it was discontinued the Ambassador nameplate, in use from 1927 until 1974, was the longest continuously used car nameplate to that time, having first been used by Nash for its premium models. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 8 generations: the 1958 to 1959 (1958 to 1959); the 1960 to 1961 (1960 to 1961); the 1962 (1962); the 1963 to 1964 (1963 to 1964); the 1965 to 1966 (1965 to 1966); the 1967 to 1968 (1967 to 1968); the 1969 to 1973 (1969 to 1973); the 1974 (1974).
