1968 AMC Ambassador

Automobiles

This was the first time any volume car manufacturer had done so, something that even Cadillac and Lincoln had not offered on their luxury cars, as air conditioning became standard on the 1968 Ambassador. Because of slow sales during the 1967 model year, the top trim convertible was dropped. The high level of standard equipment had marketing brochures asking whether the SST stood for Sensational Straight Through. The 1968 Ambassador SST was built in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
