Complete restyling in the Aeroform theme opened this period, and the Ambassador shrank to a shorter wheelbase with the former Advanced Eight engine, while Nash dropped its giant models. A six cylinder Ambassador joined the eight in 1936, and from then on the senior Nashes shared one body and differed by wheelbase, hood and trim. By 1941 every Nash was an Ambassador, and the 600 became the first popular American car built with a welded unit body that Nash called Unitized. Its model years run from 1935 to 1942.
