The fourth generation Triton was released in 2005. Designed by Akinori Nakanishi, it was built exclusively by Mitsubishi's subsidiary in Thailand and was exported to 140 global markets. It was mostly known as L200 except for Japan and its subsidiary countries' markets. The car had a 2.5 liter turbo diesel engine developing 134 kilowatts. In Japan it was sold from 2006 to 2011, the only pickup truck in the market at the time. Its model years run from 2005 to 2014.
