In Japan the Triton was exclusively equipped with a 3.5 liter petrol engine and a 4 speed automatic transmission and was sold from 2006 to 2011, the only pickup truck in the market at that time, excluding kei trucks. Production of the third generation ended in 2006 in Thailand. Cumulative sales of the first three generations exceeded 2.8 million units around the world. The Triton is a mid-size pickup truck, also known as the Mitsubishi L200, produced by Mitsubishi Motors.
