The fourth generation Galant Sigma was fully changed in May 1980, kept the linear image of the popular predecessor and added a slant nose of better aerodynamics. It had a drive computer called Velnas and was sold in Australia as the Mitsubishi Sigma. It was a rear wheel drive sedan and was also sold as an estate van and as a taxi, with a 2.0 liter turbo from November 1980. Its model years run from 1980 to 1982.
