1996 Mitsubishi Magna

Automobiles

In April and July 1996 MMAL respectively released a new generation Magna and Verada, broadly based on the pillarless Japanese second generation Diamante. The cost of the Australian project was some 500 million Australian dollars, and both cars won the 1996 Wheels Car of the Year award. From October 1996 fully equipped Advance and Altera LS models were added. The Magna was developed as a replacement for the Mitsubishi Sigma, with each generation derived from Japanese platforms re engineered for the Australian market and conditions.
