Production of the Taunus recommenced in November 1948 after the British occupation had ended, as the G73A, which was the post war version of the pre war G93A with the same streamlined body and a 1172 cc four cylinder engine. It was the main car of Ford Germany in the late 1940s. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford.
