The Taunus G93A of 1941 was the first German Ford to have hydraulic brakes, which set it apart from earlier cars of Ford Germany. It was a sedan on a longer chassis with a streamlined body, and it was in production in the middle of the war until Allied bombing and military orders halted it. It was named after the Taunus mountain range in Germany and was often a close relative of a British Ford. The Taunus was the family car of Ford Germany, sold under the 12M, 15M, 17M, 20M and 26M names over several generations.
