Ford Mustang (third generation, Fox body)

Automobiles

The Fox body Mustang was built on the Fox platform that Ford shared with the Fairmont, the Zephyr and other cars, which kept development costs down. It was sold as a coupe and a hatchback, with a convertible returning for 1983, and it passed through several trim levels and engines, including the turbocharged SVO of 1984 to 1986 and the revived GT of 1982. Ford considered replacing it with a front wheel drive car, but public opinion kept it rear wheel drive and the front drive design became the Probe. Each model year has its own page.
