For 1984 the L, GT and Turbo GT remained, joined by the new LX and the SVO performance model, and the GL and GLX were dropped. The SVO's turbocharged 2.3 liter four made 175 horsepower at first and came with four wheel disc brakes, 16 inch wheels and a bi-plane rear spoiler. To mark the Mustang's 20th anniversary Ford built 5,261 G.T.350 cars, all in Oxford White with Canyon Red interiors, and a four-speed automatic overdrive was offered behind the 302.
