The third generation arrived in April 1985 as essentially a rebadged Ford Scorpio, the Granada name being used in Ireland and the United Kingdom only. It used a stretched Sierra floorpan and suspension and was the first European volume production model fitted with antilock brakes as standard across the range. South Korea's Hyundai assembled Granadas from stockpiled kits until December 1985, by which time 4,743 had been built.
