In June 2016 Ford began selling the 2017 model year Expedition with no major changes, offered in the XLT, Limited, King Ranch and Platinum trim levels. The King Ranch trim was discontinued after the 2017 model year. The fourth generation was unveiled on 7 February 2017, and the Expedition was the last Ford vehicle to retain its older design, with its triangular tail lamps and rounded rectangular headlamps.
