For 1990 Eagle added a low cost base model at the bottom of the Summit line and a new ES at the top, which paired the 1.6 liter engine with a sport suspension, four wheel disc brakes and fourteen inch alloy wheels. All models received all capital lettering on the back. The year-to-year changes were modest for a car that was still a badge engineered Mitsubishi Mirage sold through Jeep and Eagle dealers.
