The fourth Viper, the ZB II, raised the output of the 8.4 liter V10 from 500 to 600 horsepower for 2008, with better flowing heads, larger valves and variable valve timing. It had a vented engine cover, a new Tremec TR6060 transmission, a reworked exhaust that no longer crossed under the seats and a fully revised electrical system. The Viper ACR returned and set a Nurburgring record. Dodge announced on 4 November 2009 that production would end in the summer of 2010, and the last car was built on 1 July 2010. Its model years run from 2008 to 2010.
