Dodge Lancer (1961 to 1962 compact)

Automobiles

The compact Lancer was an upmarket version of the Valiant created when Chrysler assigned the Valiant to Plymouth for 1961 and left Dodge dealers without a compact. It had the same wheelbase and body shell but round taillights, a full width grille and richer trim, with the Slant Six engine and the optional Hyper Pak power kit. Sales were about half those of the Valiant, and for 1963 it became the Dart. Its model years run from 1961 to 1962.
