The 2011 RL had a third, smaller facelift. The six-speed automatic transmission finally replaced the five-speed that critics had long called outdated, improving fuel economy to 17 mpg city and 24 mpg highway and cutting 0 to 60 mph time by half a second. Options were repacked into Technology and Advance packages, the grille was toned down, and new 18 inch wheels with a Helmholtz resonator reduced noise.
