The 2010 RL carried on with the updated car of the previous model year, the 3.7 litre VTEC V6 with 300 horsepower and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, still sold with a Technology package above the base car. The next year's refresh would add the six-speed automatic that first appeared on the 2010 ZDX, which means the 2010 RL still had its five-speed automatic, a transmission the press often criticized as outdated.
