For 2003 the RL received clear turn signal lenses in the tail lights, a new ten-spoke alloy wheel design, larger emblems and several interior upgrades, including new wood staining and a new interior color scheme. Mechanically the 2003 3.5RL was unchanged from the 2002 car, with the revised suspension and the 225 horsepower V6 that had been introduced the previous year, and OnStar stayed as standard equipment.
