The 2002 CL carried on with the 225 horsepower 3.2 litre V6 and the 260 horsepower Type-S. Its side mirrors were redesigned with a squarer shape, body-matched paint and tinted glass, after customers complained about wind noise from the mirror seam. In 2002 Honda Access America and Comptech developed a supercharged performance package for the CL Type-S, claiming 369 horsepower and a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.7 seconds.
