The Triumph Roadster is the roadster that Britain's Standard Motor Company produced from 1946 until 1949, sold as the Triumph 1800 Roadster, the 18TR, from 1946 to 1948, and as the Triumph 2000 Roadster, the TRA, from 1948 to 1949. Triumph had been bought by Standard in 1944, and its managing director Sir John Black wanted a sports car to take on Jaguar, which had used Standard engines before the war. It was never made in large numbers, and 2,501 examples were built. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the 1800 Roadster (1946 to 1948); the 2000 Roadster (1948 to 1949).
