Pontiac Firebird (second generation, 1970 to 1981)

Automobiles

The second generation Firebird debut for the 1970 model year was delayed until February 26, 1970 because of tooling and engineering problems, which is why it is called a 1970 and a half model. It was available in coupe form only, since convertibles were not available after 1969 until 1989, with a large C pillar until a larger rear window arrived in 1975. The Trans Am became famous through Smokey and the Bandit, and the generation ended in 1981. Its model years run from 1970 to 1981.
