1970 Pontiac Firebird

Automobiles

The second generation debut for the 1970 model year was delayed until February 26, 1970 because of tooling and engineering problems, giving rise to the colloquial designation of 1970 and a half. There were two Ram Air 400 cubic inch engines available for the 1970 Trans Am, carried over from 1969, the 335 horsepower L74 Ram Air III and the 345 horsepower L67 Ram Air IV, and for 1970 and 1971 all Firebirds with radios had the antenna mounted in the windshield glass.
