Plymouth Valiant (first generation)

Automobiles

The first Valiant was Chrysler's answer to the compact boom of the late 1950s, a car less radical than the rear engined Chevrolet Corvair but more daring than the Ford Falcon. It introduced the slant six overhead valve engine, canted to the right to allow a low hoodline, and the A body unit construction. The first generation was sold in three model years but existed in four configurations: early 1960, late 1960, 1961 and 1962, and added two door sedans and hardtops in 1961. Its model years run from 1960 to 1962.
