The 1962 Valiant saw an extensive facelift, with a flatter, shorter radiator grille, a hood release knob moved to the top of the grille frame, wraparound stainless trim on the tailfins and round tail lamps in place of the cat's eye lamps. It had a completely new asymmetric instrument cluster, widely praised for its clean design, and extensive electrical upgrades including a gear reduction starter and an alternator. The Signet 200 two door hardtop won a styling award.
