Mitsubishi Mirage (third generation)

Automobiles

Mitsubishi introduced the more rounded third generation Mirage to Japan in October 1987, with Masaru Furukawa heading the design and Yasukichi Akamatsu as chief engineer. The basic model, a three door hatchback with an upright tailgate and large glasshouse, arrived first. The sedan came in January 1988 and a five door liftback in June 1988, without a station wagon, so Mitsubishi kept the previous wagon. Its model years run from 1987 to 1990.
