Automobiles

The Merkur Scorpio is based on the European Ford Scorpio Mk I, called the Ford Granada Mk III in the United Kingdom and Ireland, which was European Car of the Year in 1986. It was manufactured in Cologne, West Germany, at Ford of Germany's Cologne Body and Assembly plant, on the rear wheel drive Ford DE-1 platform with a wheelbase extended by about 6 inches. It was one of two Merkur models, with the XR4Ti. Its model years run from 1988 to 1989.
