The second generation LS 400, the UCF20, debuted in November 1994 for the 1995 model year, with a longer wheelbase and similar specifications to the first. Its more aerodynamic body, with a drag coefficient of 0.28, was the work of the Calty Design Research center in the United States, and production ran from October 1994 to July 1997. A revised LS 400 came in September 1997 for the 1998 model year, with front side airbags and vehicle stability control, and the Celsior got the first Toyota laser adaptive cruise control.
