The fifth generation LS, developed under the 200B program, made its debut at the Detroit show in January 2017 and was previewed by the LF-FC concept shown at the 2015 Tokyo show. It changed to a V6 engine with no V8 option and was offered in only one length. It was facelifted in 2020 for the 2021 model year with a 12.3 inch touchscreen, was discontinued in the UK in 2025, and was announced to leave the United States after 36 years with a limited Heritage Edition for the 2026 model year.
