The fifth-generation Honda Accord, launched in the fall of 1993, was the first time Honda developed two distinct versions of the Accord: one for the European market, built with the Rover Group as the Rover 600, and one for North America and Japan on the new CD chassis. The North American car launched on 9 September 1993 as a 1994 model, grew wider yet shorter, collected a second Car of the Year Japan award, and gained a V6 engine in 1995. Each model year of this generation has its own page.
