The fourth generation Ranger was introduced for the 2019 model year and went on sale in January 2019, returning after an eight year hiatus as the first mid size Ranger. It was developed from the Ranger T6 designed by Ford Australia and built at the Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan. The standard cab was dropped, and for the first time no V6 and no manual transmission were offered, only a 2.3 liter turbocharged four and a ten speed automatic. Its model years run from 2019 to 2023.
