The sixth generation Monte Carlo of 2000 was based on the Monte Carlo Intimidator concept car shown in 1997, drawing on General Motors Motorsports for design inspiration, and the Super Sport name returned in place of the Z34. A supercharged SS was added for 2004 and 2005, and the facelifted 2006 car with the Generation IV small block V8 was the last. Its model years run from 2000 to 2007, after which the Monte Carlo ended.
