For 2007 the LTZ model was dropped along with its engine, in favor of the flex fuel 3.5 liter V6 as the exclusive engine for non SS models, and 6,035 SS models were produced. In response to declining sales Chevrolet discontinued the Monte Carlo after the 2007 model year, and on June 19, 2007 the last two 2007 Monte Carlos rolled off the line at the Oshawa Assembly plant. General Motors kept the final one for its Heritage Center collection.
