The second generation Bel Air, the Tri Five Chevrolets of 1955 to 1957, received new styling for 1955 and a V8 engine option, with the choice of the two speed Powerglide automatic or a three speed manual with optional overdrive. The cars were well received, the two door Nomad station wagon was part of the Bel Air series from 1955 to 1957, and the 1957 Bel Air is considered an icon of its age and one of the most recognizable American cars of all time. Its model years run from 1955 to 1957.
