The 1956 Bel Air received a facelift with a more conventional full width grille, which pleased customers who did not like the Ferrari inspired front of the 1955 car. The shapely two door Nomad wagons topped the price chart at 2,608 dollars, but now carried the same interior and rear sheet metal as other Bel Airs, and the least costly Bel Air was the two door sedan at 2,025 dollars. In 1955 and 1956 air conditioning could be installed on cars ordered with the standard three speed manual transmission.
