The 600 was BMW's first postwar four seat economy car, stretched from the two seat Isetta because the company had no money to design an all new car. It kept the Isetta front suspension and front door, added a conventional rear door on the right, and used a flat twin engine from a BMW motorcycle behind the rear axle. It was built from 1957 to 1959, sold about 35,000 and led directly to the 700. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the 600 (1957 to 1959).
