The Austin Princess was the large chauffeur driven luxury car of Austin, begun in 1947 as the A120 with a body made by its Vanden Plas subsidiary on a chassis shared with the Sheerline. It passed through Marks I to III, gained a long wheelbase seven seat version in 1952, and was replaced in 1956 by the Princess IV, of which only 199 were built before the model ended in 1959. Austin was absorbed into BMC in 1952. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in 2 generations: the Princess I, II and III (A120 and A135) (1947 to 1956); the Princess IV (1956 to 1959).
