Austin Montego

Automobiles

The Montego is the British family car that British Leyland launched on 25 April 1984 as the replacement for both the rear wheel drive Morris Ital and the front wheel drive Austin Ambassador, to give BL an all new competitor for the Ford Sierra and Vauxhall Cavalier. It was the last car launched under the Austin marque, which was used until a facelift introduced for the 1989 model year, and it was produced at Cowley until the saloon ended in 1993 and the estate in December 1994. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1984 to 1994).
