1989 Austin Montego

Automobiles

The Montego was the last car launched under the Austin marque, which was used until a facelift introduced for the 1989 model year, after which the Montego was sold without a marque, as the Austin name was phased out. The diesel saloon won a March 1989 Car magazine giant test against the Citroen BX, the new Peugeot 405 and the Audi 80 turbo diesels. It was the last Montego sold under the Austin name.
