The AMC Gremlin was a subcompact car that American Motors Corporation introduced on April 1, 1970, in a single two door body style until 1978. It used a shortened Hornet platform with a pronounced kammback tail, competed with the Chevrolet Vega and Ford Pinto, and was succeeded by the restyled AMC Spirit for the 1979 model year. This site gives every generation and every model year its own page, in one generation: the single generation (1970 to 1978).
