For 2024 the Ascent got updated EyeSight technology as well as a new mirror design for all trims. It was the sixth model year of the Ascent, a mid size crossover SUV in a market segment above the Forester and Outback, built at Subaru of Indiana Automotive and not sold in Japan. In terms of exterior design it was akin to a three row Outback, as the Ascent is to the Forester. The Ascent was first shown as a concept car at the 2017 New York International Auto Show.
