For 2023 the Ascent received a facelift with a new front fascia, new LED headlights with high beam assist, new C shaped taillights and updated infotainment displays of 6.5 inches and an optional 8.0 inches. It was the fifth model year of the Ascent, still made at the Subaru of Indiana Automotive plant. The Ascent was first shown as a concept car at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. It was to be the flagship Subaru vehicle in North America.
